Hello! My name is Jiovany Orozco Parra. I’m an engineer with pedagogical training, teacher, consultant and entrepreneur. One of the challenges in which I am most interested in is the transformation of education, as I consider transformation as my own revolution, and this is how I can contribute to the development of people, society, and regions. Serving and promoting service allows us to transform lives and reduce gaps!
I have been in the education sector for more than 22 years. We created CloudLabs, which is a suitable platform for learning basic sciences and vocational areas through gamified and contextualized virtual laboratories. Knowing that many people are already using our product makes all of us who participated in this project very proud.
The most significant thing for me has been to build a relationship with the God who brought me from death to life by receiving the gift of salvation that the Bible narrates in all its pages, regardless of religious context. I am deeply grateful to him, and that is why I always advise my friends to read the Bible outside of its religious context.
In this space, I share practical aspects of educational transformation and innovation as well as personal experiences we have had as CloudLabs has grown. Thank you very much for joining us. We are at your service!
Experience and archievements
This lighting laboratory was the first project that set us on the path of developing virtual laboratories more than 20 years ago. Today, we continue with the same goal of ensuring that future generations learn in a fun way with learning results that transform their lives.
In 1999, an article was published in Dinero magazine in which the first virtual laboratory project was discussed. The invention made it possible to control machines over long distances in real time and over the Internet. This has been the basis for the creation of CloudLabs Virtual STEM.
CloudLabs was born from an idea more than 20 years ago in which multiple ingredients were combined (discipline, perseverance, determination, and creativity). Today we have a solid product that is being sold in more than 36 countries. Little by little, the dream of taking a product made in Colombia to the world is being consolidated.
Exporting virtual laboratories to developed countries has not been an easy task, but it has been achieved thanks to the effort, dedication, and management of each of the members who are part of the project. Thank you very much to all of you! We will continue to transform education.
We have spent a lot of time at conferences, sharing our experiences and anecdotes throughout this learning process, always with the goal of becoming a worldwide education company from Colombia to the world.
We have more than 70 people who work directly and more than 120 who work indirectly. We seek to generate a pleasant work environment based on respect, service, and love for others. A few months ago, we celebrated 10 years of our company, and we are grateful for the human talent that makes up this work team.
As part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Association of Graduates of the Technological University of Pereira ASEUTP, we received the recognition ‘Gran Simbolo ASEUTP’, a distinction given to outstanding graduates in their professional work for their service to the country and their university. We are very grateful!
We are working on our own corporate social responsibility to improve the quality of life of the entire community, with the firm conviction that we will carry on our dream of transforming education globally. Thank you all for your support and commitment to CloudLabs!
As a consultant in education and technological innovations, I have had the fortune to present CloudLabs in different places, a dream that has been under construction for more than 20 years and for which a great team of pedagogical experts, software developers, and engineers, among many other disciplines, is actively working.
